FUndraisers and Swordbearers at CBS ~ WE NEED U!
Fundraisers are an important part of our school. Without them, we would be unable to purchase those extra needed items, support teacher appreciation, or help with basic budget needs that may arise. Fundraising helps CBS to keep tuition costs lower. Last year, the two school-wide fundraisers (Citipass and Walk a thon) along with the Swordbearer fundraisers (Bake Sale and Holiday Festival) raised over $10,000 for our school. Money was also raised by students going on the Washington, DC trip in September. The library had a Book Fair to raise money for encyclopedias. Seniors raise money for their senior trip, and athletics and fine arts do their own fundraising as well. This year the senior class will be in charge of the Carnival in May. Generally we rotate the carnival and the walk a thon.
2009/2010 we were able to purchase or supply:
- 3 vacuums with money earned from Box Tops
- new sets of playground balls for the elementary
- 3 new flat screen TV's with VCR/DVD players
- a heavy duty commercial shreder
- a number of small classroom items for teachers
- teacher appreciation/bonus
- set of books and DVD's on Creationism/Science for the library
- donation to help the library get a new set of encyclopedias
- art competition supplies
- state competition entry fees (were lowered due to money raised)
- teacher's educational convention expenses
- books for classroom use (non-textbooks)
As you can see there is plenty to get involved in. We know that you can't be involved in every fundraiser and that's understandable. We appreciate whatever you are able to do.
Ways to get involved:
- Pray for CBS everyday
- Volunteer to help with concession, competition, fundraisers
- Purchase fundraising items where possible
- Save Campbell's soup labels & Box Tops for Education: we get $.10 each
- Get a Target Red card and list CBS as charity of choice: we get $
- Use a Schnuck's card linked to CBS: we get $
- Sign up for Coke rewards: (more on this later)
- Subway Sandwiches School Rewards: (more on this later)
- Tyson A+ Rewards: Save the long labels, we get $.24 for each one
